The Diamond Deli and Malone Advertising team up for new menu item

With so many lunch options available to Downtown Akron diners, Malone Advertising figured adding another wouldn’t be all that bad. In partnership with The Diamond Deli, employees at Malone will be creating a one-of-a-kind sandwich to give Downtown Akron lunch-goers a refreshing new option.

As part of its’ yearly Halloween celebration, Malone employees will be challenged to design a new sandwich that will end up on the ‘big board’ at The Diamond Deli. Deli owner Chuck Magilavy was excited about the opportunity to add a new item to his menu board when he heard about the unique idea.

“We have been in the community since 1998 and we feel like a big part of the Akron family. Since Malone also has its roots in Akron, this opportunity was a great way to tie two local businesses together, extend our reach within the community, and spread some exciting news.”

The contest challenges all Malone employees to design and name an original sandwich using any of Diamond Deli’s available ingredients, including multiple types of bread, meats, vegetables and spreads/toppings. The only catch is that the sandwich name has to include the use of ‘Malone.’

Deli owner Magilavy will narrow the entries down to a top 5, and then the judging will begin to determine a winner. Judging will take place on Tuesday, October 24th, with judges to include local newspaper column writers, on-air radio celebrities, and a few of Magilavy’s regular customers.
