The Akron African American Festival & Parade Exhibition has attracted thousands to the Akron area over the years. It is the second oldest cultural festival in Ohio. Individuals have planned family reunions and homecomings around the dates and nationally known speakers and entertainment have participated. Locally, economic entrepreneurship has been facilitated through adults and youth vendors offering food, cultural artifacts, commercial services and youth activities.
