Celebrate the launch of our newest exhibit, "Art as Therapy?" at this free opening reception! This new exhibit explores the history, training, and practice of art therapy, with a special focus on Northeast Ohio. Through therapist- and client-created artworks, visitors will consider the question that has divided the field since its origins: is artistry a tool for psychotherapy, or a healing act in and of itself?
We’ll be joined by Guest Curators Heidi Larew (LPCC-S, LICDC-CS, ATCS) and Madeline VanHorn (LPC, ATR-P), who will share remarks on the development of the exhibit and their own experiences as mental health care providers. Remarks begin at 6 pm
Light refreshments will be offered throughout the event. All visitors will receive free admission to the exhibit, as well as the National Museum of Psychology and Institute galleries.
