Artist Talk by professor Dave Szalay: So You Want to Be an Illustrator? What comes next. Exploring careers and modes of illustration.
Sponsored by the Society of Student Illustrators, students of all majors are invited to learn about different careers in illustration and how to get started in the industry. Professor Dave Szalay is an award-winning illustrator/designer, and writer. Dave loves stories of history and culture, as much as fantasy and folklore. He has illustrated several children’s books and his work has been featured in many magazines and displayed at multiple museums. Recent clients include Little Brown, Harper Collins, Penguin Random House, Charlesbridge, Nord-Sud/NorthSouth Books, Sleeping Bear Press, Simon & Schuster, Cricket Media, Highlights Magazine, McGraw-Hill, Harcourt-Mifflin, The Boston Globe, Northeast Ohio College of Medicine, and The National Parks Service.
