The CB4 began in 2021 with a regular engagement at Jimmy's Place in Olmsted Falls, and has performed at the Bop Stop. The quartet is led by Christopher Burge, and plays tight, melodic, groove-oriented, and highly personal interpretations of American Songbook, Jazz, World, and Pop Standards, as well as originals. A recording of the group is currently in the works. Stay tuned, and we hope for you to catch us at Blu Jazz!

Christopher Burge began his career at The Ohio State University where he studied saxophone and music theory with Gene Walker and Hank Marr, graduating with a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Performance in 1997. While in school, Christopher honed his craft playing with many local Columbus bands, toured Thailand with Honk, Wail, and Moan, toured Europe with the OSU Jazz Ensemble, and performed with Barry White, Louie Bellson, Stanley Turrentine and The National Black Music Caucus Big Band,  and the Stars of the Lawrence Welk Show.

Since moving to Cleveland in October 1997, Christopher has played with Gino Vannelli, Lynyrd Skynyrd, David Sanborn, Cyndi Lauper, Mavis Staples, Ronnie Spector, Clark Terry, David "Fathead" Newman, "Little" Jimmy Scott, Bobby Caldwell, Benny Golson, Nancy Wilson, The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame House Band, Vanessa Rubin, Evelyn Wright, Helen Welch, Ernie Krivda, and Dominic Farinacci. Christopher is active in the recording studio, having recorded for American Greetings e-cards, and he wrote and recorded the theme song of the WVIZ-PBS TV show "Applause".
