The Knight Stage

New show featuring John Di Martino, Andromeda Turre, Wayne Escoffery, Lonnie Plaxico and Willie Jones III

Night is Alive, under the leadership of Managing Director/Producer Kathy Salem, is thrilled to announce the release of Christmas Ain’t Like It Used To Be on October 22, 2021. In its third Christmas album, Night is Alive wanted to take a step away from the usual holiday standards to bring audiences something fresh and new. An in-depth search conducted by pianist John di Martino resulted in the selection of songs that bring new meaning to a genre that is so near and dear to many. The album’s title tune is a classic blues with Andromeda Turre’s vocals front and center over a walking bassline and drum set brushes. There is also a Hanukkah track, titled “Happy Hanukkah My Friend,” as well as an instrumental of “Blue Christmas” so that the family can sing along while baking Christmas cookies. Featuring John di Martino (piano), Andromeda Turre (vocals), Wayne Escoffery (saxophones), Lonnie Plaxico (bass), and Willie Jones III (drums), this album includes nine tracks of vibrant holiday music. Even though Christmas ain’t what it used to be due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the spirit of the holidays will continue on in the years to come. You can find this album and more on Night is Alive’s website, www.nightisalive.co
