In this follow-along class, participants will be guided through the basics of vernacular dance forms that have been shaped by queer and Black communities, including but not limited to voguing, punkin'/waacking, twerking, and J-Sette. After class, join us for an ice cream social to learn more about the historical and societal context of these forms and how they fit into Alexandra's pedagogical and creative research.
