The Gold Tones is the premier jazz group at CFHS, with a history of excellence stretching back more than fifty years. Made up of auditioned students in grades 9-12, the group rehearses once to twice a week after school. Each year, the Gold Tones attend multiple local and regional jazz festivals as well as performing regularly in the community and hosting the annual Musical Horizons concert at CFHS. Former Gold Tones members have gone on to become professional performers and music educators at the secondary and collegiate levels.
Bedford
Bedford Jazz/Blues Band 2022-2023
The Bedford Jazz & Blues bands have been a tradition at Bedford High School for several decades. The Jazz Program is part of a comprehensive music program which includes marching band, string orchestra, music theory, music technology and music appreciation. Our vocal program includes three separate choirs, as well. The purpose of our jazz program is to give students an opportunity to learn about the jazz genre through listening to great jazz musicians and preparing jazz literature for performance.
