22 Gallery and Baxter's Speakeasy, Akron's hub for experimental art, music, and community presents Fever Dreams, a visual duet featuring two of Akron's most talented fine artists, Jeffrey Schleis and Jack E. Gibby. Curated by 22 Gallery Director Timothy Baxter.
An opening reception for Fever Dreams will be held on June 1 and 2 from 5 to 9 pm, and the show will run through the beginning of November. The opening reception will feature live music by experimental jazz musician, Smoke Face. Baxter's Speakeasy will make available Fever Dreams-inspired specialty cocktails and hor d'oeurves crafted by experimental gastronomy pop-up company, Red Raven.
The majority of the paintings on display for Fever Dreams will be up for a silent auction, where all bids above the base price of each painting will be donated to the Bayard Rustin LGBTQ+ Resource Center. Donations will support the Bayard Rustin Center's work for civil and human rights.
