Free Black! is a Hip-Hop duo created in Akron Ohio. The duo is Floco Torres (Recording Artist/Producer) & HR3 (Drummer/Producer). Free Black! bridges conversations between the past & future through a warm vintage sound, historical examination & songwriting that highlights contrasts/similarities in innovative ways.
Their latest release, “Black Tuesday!”, is an album inspired by October 29th, 1929, the day that share prices on the New York Stock Exchange completely collapsed, becoming a pivotal factor in the emergence of the Great Depression.
Lyrically and sonically, Free Black! explores similarities and differences in the US economy, social constructs, and the Black experience among the working class between the hundred years that have passed.
