METRO is offering free fares on METRO Direct & ADA services on Saturday, January 6, the date of the ceremonial swearing-in and community celebration for Mayor Shammas Malik. METRO would also like to honor the vibrant legacy of Mayor Dan Horrigan, whose dedication has shaped the City of Akron, during this time.

We are proud to acknowledge the unwavering support for public transportation from both Mayor Horrigan and Mayor-Elect Malik. Their shared advocacy for fair and equitable transportation across our region has been instrumental in fostering a connected and accessible community.
