The research landscape is full of hundreds of thousands of resources that are potentially useful to anyone pursuing African American genealogy. The concept of toolbox building is rooted in seeking out and organizing these resources in a more systematic manner. Join us to explore a number of key African American topics and identify more worthwhile resources, many of them unfamiliar to genealogists.

This is a free, virtual program taking place via Zoom. A Zoom link will be emailed to all registrants one day before the program. Contact Special Collections at 330.643.9030 or email us at speccollections@akronlibrary.org for more information about the program.

Tim Pinnick is an article writer, national speaker, and author of the book "Finding and Using African American Newspapers." Tim will be teaching his landmark African American Toolbox workshop at the Institute again in July of this year.
