Unfamiliar beauties of distant cultures tell human stories through art, film, movement, and music. Mozart and Bizet expanded their expressive palettes by borrowing from other folk traditions. Milad Yousufi relates his story as a young Afghan recently arrived in America. Sahba Aminikia conceived his film score while working with young Syrian children learning circus acts in a refugee camp on the Turkish border.
