Join us for the American Heart Association’s Greater Akron Heart Walk!

The Heart Walk is the American Heart Association’s premiere event for raising funds to save lives from this country’s No. 1 and No. 5 killers – heart disease and stroke. The non-competitive, three-mile walk is focused on funding groundbreaking research and lifesaving programs through the passion of walking together to change lives.

The Heart Walk is designed to promote physical activity and heart-healthy living and creates an environment that’s fun and rewarding for the entire family. The event will be filled with fun family activities that include music, healthy snacks, a kid’s zone with children’s activities, survivor activities, heart-health information, and much more.

Walkers can pre-register at www.heart.org/akron or register at the Heart Walk on Saturday morning.

The Heart Walk is just one of the many events the American Heart Association hosts to call on all Americans to create and embrace an overall healthier lifestyle in efforts to fulfill their national goal: to improve the cardiovascular health of all Americans by 20 percent and to reduce deaths from cardiovascular disease and stroke by 20 percent by the year 2020.  For more information on American Heart Association events happening in your area visit:  www.heart.org
