Learn about intellectual property and how best to protect your creative work. Register online, in person, or by phone at 330.643.9020.

Akron-Summit County Public Library has been a Patent & Trademark Resource Center (PTRC) since 1995. PTRCs are a nationwide network of public, academic, and special libraries spread throughout the United States. We offer access to resources from the United States Patent & Trademark Office (USPTO) in various formats, including instructional classes, books, databases, and handouts.

Our USPTO-trained librarians can get you started in your preliminary patent search and guide you to the resources to help you launch a successful business venture.

Join us for Introduction to Intellectual Property to learn about patents, copyrights, trademarks, and trade secrets, what they are, how to get them, and how you can use them to protect your creative work.

This class will meet in the Business Government & Science Division on the first floor of Main Library.

Contact the Business Government & Science Division for questions at 330.643.9020 or bgsdiv@akronlibrary.org.
