Learn about patents from librarians trained by the United States Patent & Trademark Office.

This class will meet in the patent alcove in the Business Government & Science Division on the first floor of Main Library.

Akron-Summit County Public Library has been a Patent and Trademark Resource Center (PTRC) since 1995. PTRCs are a nationwide network of public, academic, and special libraries spread throughout the United States. We offer access to resources from the United States Patent & Trademark Office (USPTO) in various formats, including instructional classes, books, databases, and handouts.

Have a great idea for an invention? Learn what a patent is, what it can do for you, and the hows and whys of searching for existing patents. You will learn how to do a preliminary patent search using the United States Patent & Trademark Office website.
