The Open Tone Music Rubber City Jazz and Blues Festival is launching a new summer series called "Jazz on the Trail" in partnership with the Cascade Locks Park Association. "Jazz on the Trail" will feature live music performances at the Mustill Store Museum, a historic landmark where three generations of Mustills serviced canal users until the late 1880s. The museum is located along the Ohio and Erie Canal Towpath Trail, a historic and scenic route that connects Akron with other cities in Northeast Ohio. The series will activate the space for all to experience the cultural and natural resources of the trail and the park, while providing an opportunity for visitors to enjoy free, high-quality entertainment in a unique setting.

The festival will hold "Jazz on the Trail" at the museum every first Sunday from June through August of 2023, from 4 pm to 6 pm. Each event will feature a different group/ensemble, with a variety of styles. The festival expects to build up more brand awareness with each event to promote the Open Tone Music Rubber City Jazz and Blues Festival which is September 7-9.
