Katherine Moore's exhibition reveals interior and exterior movement, transformation, and the unstable body of illness through time.
Katherine G. Moore presents a personal and physical transformation through chemotherapy. Moore, a dancer and choreographer, recently survived Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. Shortly after finishing chemotherapy, she did an Instagram experiment: 100 days of expressive movement and writing. the space between landing and falling extends this work, exposing a period of immense transition, disorientation, and isolation as Moore reckoned with her new post-cancer body and life. Katherine G. Moore’s writings and images will be on display in the Burton D. Morgan Exhibition Space in the downtown Akron Soul Train Gallery, May 3 - June 10, 2023.
As part of her exhibition, Moore will also give an in-gallery performance featuring her choreography alongside her writings and performance images on Saturday, May 27 at 5:00 pm.
