Akron Soul Train artist-in-residence, Raja Belle Freeman has a unique approach to writing poetry that explores multiple perspectives on a given subject. Starting with a single line, she extracts certain words to create new phrases with different meanings. One line of poetry can have several other lines “buried” within it. In this creative writing workshop, Raja Belle will teach participants her writing process and how she creates layers of rich meaning from just one simple sentence. This free workshop is open to all but students in middle school and high school are encouraged to participate.
