Join Us to Celebrate Mapping Akron
Come celebrate the city of Akron through the voices of its residents. Funded by the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation and the Ohio Arts Council, the Mapping Akron community arts project seeks to foster creative discussions of home, place and belonging for residents of Akron, Ohio, through expressive writing and placemaking workshops.

For the last two years, the Wick Poetry Center has led interactive workshops across the city gathering Akron’s distinct voices. We have written with elementary classrooms, civic leaders, library visitors, families facing homelessness, incarcerated youth, English language learners and many others.

Join us to hear these stories and add your perspective on what it means to call Akron home in this culminating celebration. We are excited to honor everyone who wrote with us along the way.

When: Thursday, Oct. 26, at 6:30 p.m.
Where: Summit Artspace
140 E. Market St., Akron, OH 44308

Refreshments, interactive mapping and writing activities, along with poetry will be provided.
