Visit the zoo and celebrate the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
Admission is free for all guests. Parking rates apply.
During the event, the zoo will be launching an oral history project in partnership with Green Book Cleveland. Visitors can learn more about the project at an information table in Komodo Kingdom and contribute their own memories of the zoo and immediate neighborhood. Throughout 2024, the Akron Zoo will host other pop-ups events to collect memories and will also create opportunities to share the collection with the community. Activities and a book giveaway will also be offered by National Sorority of Phi Delta Kappa throughout the day.
