Join us for the opening reception Friday, Feb. 28, 5 - 7:30 PM with work from AST Artists-in-Residence Davon Brantley and duo Elyse Morckel & Denzel D. Washington. We will also have a special viewing of Matt Kurtz's "Drumroll to the Eclipse" in the CapSoul Gallery. Exhibits on view Wed. Feb. 26 through Sat. April 5. Don't miss it!

"Chapter 2: Midsommar in Granada Gardens"
A collection of oil paintings in conversation with purgatory and grief. Brantley uses vibrant colors juxtaposed with muted grey tones to explore the emotional tension surrounding the loss of a loved one.

Born from the writing of Carl Sagan’s “Pale Blue Dot” and Elyse Morckel’s original dance piece VOID, Wanderlust Blue ruminates on humanity’s struggle with the notion that one’s existence is not the center of the universe.

See the solar eclipse again but this time with the perfect lead-in: a drumroll! This recording documents a sound performance in collaboration with the total eclipse on April 8th, 2024.
Also come extend well wishes and a big thank you to Pita Brooks. It is Pita's last opening reception with Akron Soul Train as the Executive Director. We will miss her and are grateful for her dedication and commitment to our thriving Akron art scene.
