Raising the Bar, a program geared towards career exploration in law, was developed through a partnership between My Brother’s Keeper Summit County out of Summit County Executive Ilene Shapiro's Office, and Akron Municipal Court Judge David Hamilton. The mission of Raising the Bar is to encourage minority youth to pursue a career in law by providing opportunities that expose them to the legal field while promoting critical thinking and deductive reasoning skills. This program will help students develop a unique skill set that could be applied to any career in the legal field. Obtaining a law degree will make it possible for students to pursue diverse career opportunities and ultimately increase representation for minorities.
