In this dynamic two-part workshop (January 26 + February 2), we'll dive into the fascinating fundamentals of pattern creation. Melih will unravel the historical context of patterns and tessellations, showcasing various mesmerizing examples of translations, reflections, and symmetries. Brace yourself for an engaging hands-on exercise called PART/TRAP in the first half, where you'll craft your tessellating tile masterpiece on paper.

The excitement doesn't stop there! In the second part, we'll elevate your creativity by transforming your drawings into laser-cut woodblocks before the workshop begins. Get ready to explore the basics of relief printing, from inking wood blocks to employing hand-printing and stamping techniques. Together, we'll bring your visions to life as we create stunning repeating tile prints on paper.
