Details
One of the most charismatic performers to emerge in the last decade, Xavier Foley composed his double concerto as a vehicle for two virtuoso performers, and as a personal plea for equal justice in America. Bach’s Third Brandenburg Concerto transforms the usual 4-part texture of a string orchestra and divides it into 10 independent parts, creating dazzling textures of interlacing lines. Tchaikovsky’s string serenade stands as the pinnacle of string orchestra writing in the Romantic age: passionate, lush, dazzling.
