GRAMMY nominated New York City musicians – saxophonist Dan Pratt (Christian McBride Big Band) and pianist Michael Eckroth (John Scofield) team up with an all-new band and self-titled 2022 album release for a not-to-miss BLU debut! Featuring Dan Pratt, Michael Eckroth, Matt Clohesy, Allan Mednard.

This quartet of musicians has played together in various iterations for over five years, honing an intimate understanding of what makes their ensemble – and their audiences – come alive. In the spring of 2021, saxophonist Dan Pratt and pianist Michael Eckroth decided to form a band together to leverage this chemistry, and called the new ensemble The Relay. The band’s first task was to make a recording of all-new material, and the self-titled debut is a nine-track album featuring eight originals and one standard which will go straight to the beating heart and the tapping foot of any fan of serious jazz: songs with infectious rhythm, memorable melodies, and swirling improvisation, with an execution that is self-assured without being self-important.
