What do you call four grownup Akron lads, scattered around the US, that have been playing music together for 40 years…
The Walking Clampetts are thrilled to be getting back together on stage again! Johnnie Teagle (NY), Mike Purkhiser (CA), Mikey Hammer (GA) and Bob Basone (OH) will provide two long sets of their take on Early Rock&Roll, both Friday April 21st AND Saturday April 22nd. Two action-packed nights of rockabilly numbers, surf instrumentals, garagebands… hits and obscurities for your dancing pleasure!
General admission bar gig like the old days (no reserved seating), the band looks forward to seeing friends and fans from the ’80s, ’90s and 21st century, playing loud and proud, putting out those crazy rhythms that won’t let you sit down! The boys promise to work up a sweat and hope you will as well (your presence on the dance floor is requested but not mandatory).
It wouldn’t be a Clampetts show without SOMEBODY joining them to sing a few or rip some solos and a number of those from all eras plan to be there honoring the legacy of early R&R usual suspects, early supporters and a few to be initiated under fire! A number of songs that have been overlooked in recent years/decades will come out of the vault, as well as a few new ones; closing set each night will be the killers, opening set each night will be totally different setlists, so plan on getting there early – both Friday AND Saturday!
