Unconventional Romance on the Screen
Movies on the big screen every Thursday at 6:30 pm. Relax and enjoy classics or recent blockbusters in Main Library’s auditorium. No registration is required. Free parking on weekdays after 6 pm.

February 2, 6:30 pm: All That Heaven Allows (1955) Douglas Sirk's Technicolor romance, with Jane Wyman as a bored widow who falls for her younger gardener, Rock Hudson, and the couple face family and community disapproval, 89 min.

February 9, 6:30 pm: Love Me Tonight (1932) A musical tour-de-force (with songs by Rodgers & Hart) with Maurice Chevalier as a tailor mistaken for an aristocrat who finds himself falling for princess Jeanette McDonald.

February 16, 6:30 pm: Harold and Maude (1971) The cult classic directed by Hal Ashby, with Bud Cort as the young, death-obsessed prankster and the irrepressible Ruth Gordon as the force of nature he meets at a funeral. On the National Film Registry, the Cat Stevens songs will stick with you for days! PG, 91 min.

February 23, 6:30 pm: Design for Living (1933) The Lubitsch charm wins again, with Gary Cooper, Fredric March, and Miriam Hopkins as a trio who decide to live together platonically since she cannot decide between both the men who love her. Based on a Noel Coward play, with support from favorites Edward Everett Horton and Franklin Pangborn, 91 min.
