TubaSummer is back for its 22nd year! Tuba and euphonium players from northeast Ohio will gather to create the mellow sound that only tubas can make. Following the form of Akron’s well-known TubaChristmases, a 42-year tradition held annually at EJ Thomas Hall, TubaSummer celebrates its namesake season with well-known tunes encapsulating the sound of summer, featuring everything from polkas to patriotic sing-a-longs. The event is open to all members of the community and to players of all abilities. Participation in and attendance at the concert are free.

TubaSummer will be held at 7:00 pm on July 30, 2023, on the southeast lawn of Guzzetta Hall on the University of Akron campus (157 University Ave.). In case of inclement weather, the rehearsal and concert will take place in the Guzzetta Recital Hall.

Participants: Grab your tuba or euphonium and join us! Music will be provided free for the performance and will be available for purchase for $5.00. Participants are asked to register on the day of the event. Registration begins at 4:30 p.m. at Guzzetta Hall, and rehearsal is at 5:00.
