UA just released a new ad campaign revolving around the theme "Everyone Rises".

The Hower House Museum is keeping with that spirit this holiday season during our UA Faculty and Staff Weekend - Saturday December 4th and Sunday December 5th by having a donation drive for Victims Assistance of Summit County.

There is a specific need to provide self-care packages for Victim Assistance clients in the Akron Sexual Assault Kit Initiative (ASAKI) Program. The trauma of these clients (who have been victims of sexual assault and subsequent law enforcement negligence) is very complex and deep rooted. For this reason, Victims Assistance of Summit County's team would like to collect small self-care items which will be packaged with notes of affirmation and compassion to encourage these clients. These self-care packages will also help survivors of sexual assault know that the community hears, believes, and supports them, as they navigate the court system to find long-awaited justice for their experience.

You can learn more about the unique ASAKI program, here: https://www.sakitta.org/akron/

To support this amazing organization and the brave clients they assist, we will be collecting cash donations and self-care items during our UA Faculty and Staff Weekend.
