Exhibiting artist Zeerak Ahmend will perform with her New York-based band Slowspin, featured in Pitchfork, in the Museum’s lobby at 7:30 pm.
Slowspin draws on the migrant’s deep well of loss and longing, weaving traditional South Asian musical forms into lushly textured folk, ambient, and dream pop. The quartet for Slowspin includes Grammy nominated artist Shahzad Ismaily (Love in Exile, Yoko Ono, Laurie Anderson) also referred to as the Musician’s favorite Musician, as well as Grey Mcmurray (Gil Scott-Heron, Beth Orthon) and Marlon Patton (Lonnie Holley).
