Akron/Summit Convention & Visitors Bureau Launches Eighth Annual Summit Brew Path
AKRON, OH (Feb. 7, 2024) – The Akron/Summit Convention & Visitors Bureau (ASCVB) is excited to announce the eighth annual Summit Brew Path will be launching on Feb. 10, 2024. The Brew Path consists of 21 locations throughout Summit County and provides an opportunity to showcase and support our local breweries.
Participants are encouraged to head to breweries that they may not be familiar with or to try a new craft beer at their favorite spot. The journey begins by picking up a passport at any brewery along the Brew Path. Users need to visit and make a purchase at each location to receive a stamp on their passport. The minimum number of stamps needed for completion is 17, but the potential for larger prizes comes from visiting all 21 breweries. Participants must be 21 years of age or older.
The Summit Brew Path has two prize tiers:
- Tier one is completing 17 stops, which enters participants into a drawing for a $250 cash prize, upon submitting their passports.
- Tier two is for those who complete all 21 stops, which upon submitting a finished passport, enters participants into the grand prize drawing for $1,000 cash.
Finishers of both tiers will be invited to the Brew Path Bash at the end of the year. The Bash celebrates the participants and breweries on a successful year. The breweries are present to share tastings of their favorite brews, there is a live DJ, indoor yard games, delicious food and plenty of fun.
“The Summit Brew Path is our largest outward-facing initiative that individuals locally and regionally enjoy year after year,” said Gregg Mervis, president & CEO of the ASCVB. “Supporting our local breweries is a key driver to our keeping our vibrant hospitality ecosystem in Summit County thriving.”
Last year, the Summit Brew Path saw over 2,000 completions submitted to the ASCVB, and the Brew Path Bash had nearly 1,700 attendees.
New for the 2024 Summit Brew Path is the passport submission process. This new virtual process is quick, simple and efficient. Once the passport is complete, participants will complete the designated area of their passports and then visit summitbrewpath.com/submission to input their information into an online form. The information on the passport and online form MUST match. The next step will be to upload a picture of their completed passport, showing their information, as proof of completion. The ASCVB team will then confirm the submission and send invites to the Bash via email.
