Akron Zoo to Host Brand-New Event, Tequila ‘n Tigers

July 21, 2022, AKRON, Ohio – The Akron Zoo is hosting a brand-new, adults-only event, Tequila ‘n Tigers on Saturday, July 30 from 6:30 – 9:30 p.m. Tickets are limited and expected to sell out.

This event celebrates International Tiger Day. Tickets include a trio of margaritas tastings, chips and salsa, tiger keeper talks, a tiger training demonstration and fun animal enrichment. Full-sized drinks will be available for purchase, along with food trucks. Local breweries and wineries will be on-site, including Akronym Brewery, Ciderboys, Heidelberg Distributing, Hoppin' Frog Brewing, Tramonte Distributing, Troutman Vineyards & Winery and The Winery at Wolf Creek. Food trucks include Avorrito Street Cuisine and Southern Thangs.

Tickets are available at akronzoo.org/tequila-n-tigers. Akron Zoo members are $30 and non-members are $35. Designated driver tickets are available for $19 for members and $25 for non-members.

Tequila ‘n Tigers is 21 and older only. Infants and children will not be admitted. A kid- friendly tiger event, International Tiger Day, will be available for families on Friday, July 29 from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.

The Akron Zoo is open 361 days a year. Summer hours are 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. Admission is $14 for adults, $12 for seniors (ages 62+) and $11 for children (ages 2-14). Children under two are free and parking is $5. For more information visit www.akronzoo.org or call (330) 375-2550.
