Engage with the Akron Zoo During Zoo Closure
March 24, 2020, Akron, Ohio – The Akron Zoo will remain closed through April 7 in accordance with Governor DeWine’s executive “stay at home order.”
Even though the public isn’t able to visit the zoo right now, Akron Zoo fans can stay connected. The Akron Zoo is offering Lunch and Learns on Facebook at noon daily.
The videos feature animals and staff at the Akron Zoo, and the videos will be live several days a week for people to engage with the zoo and ask questions during their live broadcast.
The zoo started its Facebook programming on March 17 and in just seven days experienced engagement that equals 20% of its annual attendance. People can also follow the zoo on Instagram for additional programming and short videos.
