Inaugural Downtown Akron South Asian Celebration Coming April 28

Akron, Ohio — Downtown Akron Partnership (DAP) announces the inaugural Downtown Akron South Asian Celebration, which will take place at Cascade Plaza on April 28 from noon to 4 pm.

Throughout the afternoon, attendees can look forward to cultural performances by local entertainment groups, Bollywood music, a free craft courtesy of The University of Akron’s Zips Activity Board, Holi color powder, food, dancing and vendors selling handmade goods.

The celebration will honor South Asian culture and springtime holidays and new year celebrations that take place throughout the region.

The Downtown Akron South Asian Celebration is presented by Downtown Akron Partnership with support from the City of Akron, the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation and Ohio Arts Council.
