METRO RTA to Offer Free Fares on Select Dates
October 17, 2024, AKRON — METRO RTA will be providing free fares on the following dates: Election Day on Tuesday, November 5, Veteran’s Day on Monday, November 11, and Giving Tuesday on Tuesday, December 3.
"Access to transportation should never be a barrier to voting,” said CEO Dawn Distler. “Offering free rides on Veteran's Day and Giving Tuesday are a small token of our gratitude to Veterans and their families, and a way to give back to our community."
Free rides will be available on METRO Direct and METRO ADA services only.
Polls for Election Day are open from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Voters can find polling locations by visiting the Summit County Board of Elections website.
