December 26, 2023, AKRON — METRO RTA will offer free fares on METRO Direct & ADA services on Saturday, January 6, 2024, the date of the ceremonial swearing-in and community celebration for Mayor Shammas Malik. Free fares serve as a celebration of the vibrant legacy of Mayor Horrigan, whose dedication has shaped the city of Akron, and as an enthusiastic anticipation for the future.
