New laser light event to be offered at Akron Zoo

The Akron Zoo is offering a unique, new event to light up the cold winter nights called Laser Lights. Laser Lights runs Feb. 15-16, 21-23, 28 and March 1-2 from 6:30-8 p.m.

At Laser Lights, a portion of the zoo will come alive with dancing, dazzling laser lights. Guests can see featured animals like penguins, lemurs, Komodo dragons and more. An area of the zoo’s Komodo Kingdom Education Center will be transformed into the Glow Zone with glowing decorations, mirrors and more.

Tickets are $5 per person and free to Akron Zoo members. Tickets are available online at akronzoo.org or at the Akron Zoo box office. Akron Zoo members can also enjoy an exclusive member-only preview of Laser Lights on Feb. 14 from 6:30 – 8 p.m.

The Akron Zoo is open 361 days a year. Winter hours are 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. and admission is $7 per person. Children under two are free and parking is $3. For more information visit www.akronzoo.org or call 330-375-2550.
