Summit County Clerk of Courts Tavia Galonski Celebrates First Year

February 10, 2025, AKRON, OH—Summit County Clerk of Courts Tavia Galonski was honored to celebrate her first full year serving Summit County as Clerk of Courts. Clerk Galonski was appointed in January of 2024 and elected to a four-year term in November 2024. “I must thank my wonderful staff for their expertise during this first year. As I enter my four-year term, I am continuing to focus on customer service and implementing changes that improve the office. I am honored to be chosen to serve as the Clerk of Courts for Summit County,” said Clerk of Courts Tavia Galonski.

Clerk Galonski has been active in the Ohio Clerk of Courts Association, becoming a certified Clerk in her first year. She has been selected as the District 8 Chair, which covers Columbiana, Stark, Mahoning, Trumbull, Ashtabula, Lake, Geauga, Portage, Cuyahoga, and Summit Counties. She looks forward to continuing her leadership in the OCCA, forging new community partnerships, and increasing the distribution of information about the services the Summit County Clerk of Courts provides to residents.

Since January 2024, under Clerk Galonski’s guidance, the Summit County Clerks of Courts office has:

  • Processed 13,887 new cases in the Legal Division
  • Accepted 2,928 passport applications
  • Processed 266,978 motor vehicle & watercraft titles
  • Attended over 100 community events throughout Summit County
  • Spread information to over 101,000 Summit County residents
  • Hosted a Passport Fair with U.S. Representative Emilia Sykes
  • Hosted an Expungement Clinic with Summit County Prosecutor Kolkovich
  • Launched a Pending Civil Filings website
  • Successfully powered through the Global IT Outage of July 2024
  • Participated in Summit County’s first Fugitive Safe Surrender in a decade
  • Improved scam awareness by participating in the County’s Outsmart the Scam events and creating a new pamphlet to educate citizens on Title Scams and how to avoid them
