World of Wonders Museum Reopening in May with New Saturday Hours

AKRON, Ohio, April 22, 2025 — Curated Storefront announced that Clayton Bailey's World of Wonders will reopen May 1 with new Saturday hours aligned with other nearby cultural attractions.

The museum celebrates Funk Art pioneer Clayton Bailey (1939-2020), featuring his imaginative ceramics and sculptures depicting mythical creatures, robots and whimsical characters. The reopening includes several previously unexhibited pieces.

"We're thrilled to continue sharing Clayton Bailey's vision with the public," said Katie Butler, manager of studios and galleries at Curated Storefront. "By aligning our Saturday hours with neighboring museums, we're making it easier for families to experience the range of artistic and historical treasures that downtown Akron has to offer."

Located in the Polsky building at 225 South Main Street, the museum remains free and open to the public. And it is within steps of the recently opened Lock 3 park, as well as other cultural institutions like Akron Soul Train, the Akron Children’s Museum, the new Akron History Center, and the Akron Civic Theatre. Museum hours from May through August will be Thursdays and Fridays from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturdays from noon to 4 p.m. In September and October, the museum will be open Fridays from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturdays from noon to 4 p.m. To celebrate the opening, the museum will host an open house with light refreshments on Saturday, May 3.
